The stain, the latest short film by the Murcian director, Álvaro López Alba, finishes its post-production and begins its run at festivals. From Shoji Films we have had the pleasure of co-producing this short film with him, which together with MMS – Short film distribution begins its distribution.
Álvaro López Alba combines his profession as a psychologist with making short films. In 2017 he won the CreaMurcia festival with his fiction short film Ruminations and later directs the documentary piece, Rosebud (2020), from a more intimate and familiar environment.

With The stain, the director once again makes a foray into the fiction genre, offering us the perspective of teenagers in times of pandemic. It is a short film that presents us with some of their conflicts in the time of coexistence with Covid, where the use of a mask can create a schism during a family dinner and relationships between friends become somewhat more complicated than usual.
,In a context marked by the health and socioeconomic consequences of covid-19, adolescents suffer from not having taken into account their needs and circumstances during the pandemic.
Adrián and Eva like each other, but neither seems to dare to take the first step. Since the arrival of the pandemic, the plan of the group of friends they have in common has not changed much: meeting in the park to talk and drink. But the day they finally decide to be alone and without warning the rest, something goes wrong, and a lie will spread like a stain that cannot be erased.
We are delighted to include this work in our catalog and we hope that the short film is well received at festivals!
